Stormy Stormy Night
Last night was the first night since our moving in that we experienced heavy rain peppered with lightning and thunder. The rain started moments before we were getting into bed and Domi cried upon hearing the first roll of thunder. Daddy and Mummy pacified him by explaining the occurence of thunder (Never mind that he's only 2.....) and he was fine after awhile. Donovan was laying just beside Mummy and keeping very quiet. We knew that he was also affected by the thunder and lightning, but putting up a brave front. Whenever a lightning brightens up our room through the seams of our blinds, he'll say, "Another lightning". Mummy spent one full hour worrying and praying that the kids can sleep peacefully for the night, especially Baby Rei.
When we were putting up at Woodlands, we never had this problem with rain and storms. That was because of the structure of our unit and the positioning of our bedroom, we never hear anything that's happening outside. We would often wake up to realise that a storm had ridden past the night before. Of course, we took for granted. That's why the children couldn't fall asleep even with the repetitive primary chords of Canon In D playing in the background. To make it worse, staying on the 2nd floor means we can hear the raindrops crashing on the concrete grounds just outside our windows, on top of the thunder. Well well well.....
