One week had gone by...
It had been a week since our independence. Apart from the remaining 25 boxes still collecting dust in the house,we are managing fine. Staying on our own definitely brings a sense of liberation. The boys have more space to run, helper has less clothes to iron at her own time, hubby need not ferry us up an down the sunny island so many times a day and I can wear anything I want.
Staying on our own also stings our pockets a lot. We have to fork out for every single item in the household from fire insurance right down to toilet paper and I have to chop my own garlic!! No more leisure shopping after work and return home with a table of dinner waiting for me. Instead, I need to rush home to do the cooking and have the dinner ready for the kids when they get home. You know what? I'm enjoying it.
It may sound silly but it has always been my ambition to be a housewife. Yeah yeah, a teaching job puts bacon on the table but my devotion is always at home. So far, the greatest challenge daily is in deciding what to prepare for breakfast and dinner, but that's the only thing that keeps my brain working. Bimbo right? But I like it.... (nannny nanny boo boo.... )
