CNY 2009

Gu Gu and Gor Gor with the boys
Mummy, Grandma with Donovan
Donovan with Peh Peh
Great-Grandpa with the boys
Grandpa with the boys
Daddy with Dominus

This is Didi Dominus' 1st CNY. Whenever he hears a chinese new year song, he'll clench both his fists together and wave them to and fro frantically. That's how we taught him to do the 'gong xi gong xi' hand sign. The boys enjoyed the festival very much. Especially Gor Gor Donovan, who indulged in the new year goodies like crakers, bah kwa, soft drinks and mandarin oranges to his heart's content!
However, towards nightfall on the first day of CNY, we experienced a black-out at our home! Dominus and Daddy was already asleep before 9pm, Mummy and Donovan was already orientating themselves to sleep when suddenly, the electrical appliances went dead one after another. First it was the air-con, then the lights followed by the fans. Donovan froze beside Mummy while Mummy tried to wake Daddy up. We heard exchanges outside our room where Grandma, Grandpa, Gu Gu and our helper Jerrimie were making suggestions on how to revive the electricity. Donovan was terrified by the sudden darkness and was soon pacified by Grandma. As the air-con was out, Mummy had to manually fan Dominus so that he could continue sleeping in comfort. After several hours, the electricity was restored. PHEW!
Mummy took this as a lesson to teach Donovan about electricity and how it powered the air-con, fans and his favourite television. He could recall about the incident in the following morning and he woke up to say, 'no air-con, no TV, no lights, no barney....' And he managed to learn how to say 'e-lec-three-siti'!
