Donovan going through Herniotomy

During Donovan's last episode of HFMD, Mummy noticed that Donovan's testes were a little swollen. After a consultation with KKH (I remembered complaining about that G**nd* doctor who was not competent enough to give a clear diagnosis and explanation), the doctor referred him to a specialist who recommended a day surgery to remove the hydrocil (water) in the testes. This procedure takes about 30 minutes and is considered one of the easiest and most common minor operation among boys. Dr Low Yee, the surgeon involved is very experienced as she had done thousands of such surgeries.

He finally slept.

After about 5 hours in the Day surgery centre, we could finally go home. The nurses had briefed Daddy and Mummy about how to take care of Donovan and alerted us that the anastetic effect hasn't wear off completely. Therefore, Donovan will find that he has trouble walking since his right leg (where the incisional site is) is still numbed. We realised that even before we reached home as Donovan was grouchy that he couldn't move his legs at his own will at all. He had to give Mummy directions like 'up', 'down' etc so that Mummy can move his legs for him.

Mummy witnessed how difficult it was for Donovan and for the rest of the family members who are taking care of him. On one hand, Donovan feels frustrated not being able to walk and the rest of us are desperate as we can't make it any better for him. Mummy then thought of the trememdous love behind other unfortunate families where paralysis or worse circumstance is a permananent issue. Three cheers to all noble parents!
