What's that??
Baby Donovan is very fond of babbling. So far, he had attempted and made understood of words beginning with 'p', 'm', 'c', 'k', 'd', 'w', and a few others. However, his vocabulary bank is overpowering his linguistic skills at this moment so we often have different words sounding the same and us having a hard time guessing what he is trying to convey.
For example, 'ma-ma'(grandma) could mean both grandma and food; 'con' could mean sweetcorn, gong-gong(grandpa), air-con or clock; 'pa-pa'(father) could mean father or feeling scared; 'di' could mean younger brother or drawer in mandarin; 'meh' could mean he wants to listen to 'We wish you a Merry Christmans' song or that he wants his milk! Every minute with Baby Donovan is really a mind-boggling game of language charade!
Still, Baby Donovan somehow has a way of making himself understood despite several ridiculous misunderstandings. When he wants to express that he had to wait for the MRT to appear, he'll put forward his palm and say 'wey'. After he had finished washing his hands, he'll clap and say 'wher wher' when the water splashes all over. When he wants grandma to bring him to the pond to look at the koi, he'll put his palms together and wriggle them to simulate a fish swimming, coupled with sound effects of the water....
Anyway, there's good news as Baby Donovan can pronounce 'Jiu-jiu'(maternal uncle) and 'gu-gu'(paternal aunty) perfectly and discriminately already. 'Phew!"
