Donovan Gor Gor says…
I visited Mummy on Tuesday and saw that she was lying on the hospital’s bed. At first I wondered why didn’t she greet me gleefully like what she’ll usually do. I approached her with swinging open arms, signaling that I want a hug but Mummy explained that she cant hug me, yet. Instead, she got Grandma to carry me onto the bed and hug me from there. I received a big fat wet kiss too. I guess that’ll do, at least for the moment.
Shortly after, a trolley with a transparent container was pushed into the room with a bundle of neatly wrapped baby. I was introduced that will be my Didi, a younger brother, a mini-me! I approached the container curiously and saw a little baby, just like the one I’ve seen in the storybook ‘There’s a house inside my Mummy’. Immediately, I shouted out ‘baby’! Daddy then carried me up and I touched and kissed my brother gingerly as I could see that he was so delicate and somehow fragile.
Baby Dominus is G6PD too
It has been confirmed that Baby Dominus will have to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks. Mummy had been worrying about this from the first day she knew she was pregnant again. Having the torturing experience of leaving Baby Donovan in the hospital for 14 days for monitoring of this blood enzyme deficiency, Mummy didn’t want to go through it again. However, her worst fears came true when the Pediatrician confirmed that Baby Dominus has this condition too. Though this isn’t a life-threatening condition, Mummy still worries about Baby Dominus as he can’t be with us for the next 2 weeks. Will Baby Dominus know that all of us will miss him? I think he does.
Mummy is trying to be optimistic about the situation but it is always hard to say good-bye, especially to your loved ones. The only consolation she could think of is that she could better prepare Baby Donovan for the new member in the family. Mummy's hospitalization absence must have left Baby Donovan pondering for a reason. Going home without a baby (aka ‘competitor’) may be a good thing after all.
