Colicky Baby Rei
Baby Rei had been having crying spells for almost 2 weeks already. From a baby who sleeps almost round the clock, to one who has difficulties falling and staying asleep, we sort of knew he'd the colic condition. The crying could last for hours, making Mummy really stressed out. Like Donovan's time when he had infantile colic, the continuous crying really shattered our hearts. However, this time we managed it better, as we knew what it was all about and prepared some colic medicine whenever the attacks come.
The greatest challenge this time is how to keep the brothers asleep while Rei is screaming for hours on end. The brothers seemed not disturbed by Rei's cries once they fall asleep though, but Donovan was quite adamant about having no one else but Mummy carry Rei whenever he cries. He'll also console Rei by saying,"Rei Rei don't cry, Mummy is here..."
Yesterday night, Mummy was desperate as Rei was really crying non-stop despite having his dosage of colic drops so by midnight, Daddy suggested bringing Rei to A&E, a decision that was almost hanging on Mummy's lips as we needed to know that he is clinically healthy and nothing serious is causing his crying spells. Off we sped down CTE to KKH. The PD suggested for Rei to be admitted for them to run tests and scans but Mummy wasn't too agreeable. Halfway through the paper work for admission, Mummy backed out and suggested to the PD that we'll observe Rei for a day or 2 with the new prescription before admitting him into the hospital if the condition persists.
After 2 hours at KKH, we left for home with Rei sleeping soundly in Mummy's arms.
