It's gonna be another hero!

After many long weeks, we finally arrived at the ADC at KKH. Waiting outside the door wasn't an easy feat as every passing minute made us more nervous than the earlier minute. When we were finally in the room, our hearts were burning wih curiosity. Though the scan for the health of baby's organs is important, we were however more curious with the gender of our 3rd child. Shouldering the expectations of well-wishers and having the unwillingness to admit that destiny plays an even bigger role than chromosomes in deciding the gender of our baby, Mummy cried when the doctor revealed that, "It looks like a boy..." Daddy was shocked to see the tears rolling down Mummy's cheeks and promised to get her the diamond he'd promised if it's going to be a girl even though its not. Well, it's not about diamonds anymore, it about expectations falling short, hopes dashed, overwhelming disappointment and having to deal with the 'pity' in the voices of those who'd say,"Oh, never mind, you can always try for a girl next time...".

The doctor consoled Mummy with the notion that there are many other couples facing fruitless efforts in conceiving. So having three monkeys is better than none right? Aunt Yoke Joo was there too, and encouraged Mummy to try for the 4th baby if we really want a girl. Well, Daddy is all for the idea but Mummy is skeptical about subjecting herself to another round of emotional roller-coaster.
