One week on...

Its exactly a week since Baby Rei was born. This entire week had been a whole new experience for Mummy. Mummy had never taken care of a fresh newborn before, as both Donovan and Dominus were G6PD Deficient hence needing to stay warded for 2 weeks from birth. Baby Rei was unexpectedly not having this trait so was able to be discharged along with Mummy at day 2. The learning curve was huge! From learning when would the ambillical cord drop, how to take care of the belly button, how to clean the tiny fellow, how to carry the puny fellow etc, all was too big a mouthful of tasks for Mummy to handle.

Hormones always get blamed for everything. From physical imperfections like zits and pigmentations, to emotional glitches like mood swings and explainable tantrums, hormones seemed to have a hand in all. Sadness seemed to hang below Mummy's brows these few days that it is only when it condenses into hot steamy tears that Mummy realises she is crying, for reasons she is not ready to discuss.

Post-natal depression? Guess not, as Mummy knew more than to get herself into that state. To counter sadness, Mummy focused on activities that makes her happy. Like latching Baby Rei, who drinks like no tomorrow, singing to Baby Dominus and watching him play and also switching on the air-con! Grandma is less strict this time round with her confinement 'laws' and Mummy is literally ripping her generosity happily!
