Mummy's 1st attempt at this traditional TeoChew Rice Kueh
Mummy had wanted to make something savoury after all the cakes and cookies. After a few days of gathering whatever was needed, Mummy set work on this kueh immediately. However, just before Mummy was about to set work, Donovan made Mummy really mad with his near-impossible tantrums. So Mummy was fuming mad when she made the kueh and some turned out to be really ugly.
The traditional ones are pink in colour, but Mummy made some white mini ones as well to distinguish between the spicy ones and non-spicy ones. Spicy ones had chilli-dried-shrimps added and Daddy liked that particularly. The non-spicy ones had peanuts and pork belly for the kiddos to indulge!
The greatest hurdle in making this kueh is however, putting up with Singapore's heat wave rather than any other step in the recipe.
